This is a rare first edition 2002 Irish 1 Euro bimetalic coin with a obverse side design of a silver colored center with a harp, the traditional symbol of Ireland since the middle ages flanked to the left and right by the word "ÉIRE" (Irish for Ireland) and the year the coin was struck. On the golden colored outside ring are 12 stars of the flag of Europe.  On the reverse side is a map of the European Union.
 
This coin is a piece of Irish numismatic history and a valuable 1st edition.  A unique and prize item for coin enthusiasts especially lovers of Irish heritage.
