First the USA Historical Perspective

The following states are the first 13 states to ratify the United State of America constitutional government:

Delaware was the first to ratify the constituion government in December 1787 along with PA and New Jersey. Georgia and Connecticut followed in January 1788. Six more states followed later in 1788: Mass, MD, Virginia, New York, New Hampshire, S Carolina. In 1789 N Carolina signed and in 1790 Rhode Island signed.

This 1999 P Connecticut State Quarter is from the State Quarter series and was release in October 1999.

The quarter's reverse side design shows the Charter Oak, the tree that hid the charter from Britain’s King Charles II in 1662. This charter established Connecticut’s boundaries and self-rule. In 1687, Captain Joseph Wadsworth saved the charter from the hands of the British, hiding it safely in this tree.

Even after Connecticut became a state in 1788, it continued to use the charter as its constitution.  A new state constitution was adopted in 1965.

Minted in Phildelphia in 1999, this nickel clad copper coin is a rare coin's with unique phantom branches and other doubled die errors with die chips and cuds.   Its a valuable addition to any coin collection, especially for those interested in US coin errors with both Doubled Die Obverse and Reverse that collectors avidly seek.
