This 1979 D Susan B. Anthony Liberty Dollar U.S. Coin was minted at the Denver Mint and designed by the renowned U.S. Mint Chief Engraver, Frank Gasparro. It was struck with a business finish and is an excellent piece of American numismatic history. It's historically significance because it's the first U.S. coin to feature a portrait of a real woman instead of Lady Liberty.
The obverse side celebrates the women's suffrage movement and features a profile of Susan B. Anthony, a pioneer in women's rights, while the reverse side displays the iconic image of an American eagle landing on the moon, a tribute to the Apollo 11 mission.
The double die mint errors and repunched mint mark increase this coins value making it a rare find and great addition to any collection!
